Much like our players, who come from across the country to play for a high-level team, our fans come from all walks of life. We like to get to know them personally, to find out what brings them through our doors. We've met people who love the Caterpillar Visitors Center, a staple attraction of Peoria. Others love the Riverfront Museum, outdoor concerts, PNC's Winter Fest, or just good old ice skating. What ties them all together, though, is the love they develop for Rivermen hockey.
We're also big on history and tradition, so we won't miss an opportunity to take a walk down memory lane. Peoria has been exceptionally good to us, and we can only hope to return the favor and then some.
Family Fun and Community Involvement
As part of our goal to return the favor to a city that's been so good to us, we partner with local organizations to serve those in need. We also work with schools and businesses in the area who want to schedule a player appearance.
One of our favorite events is the annual Stuff-A-Bus food drive, which is exactly what its name suggests. The goal is to fill (stuff) a CityLink bus with donated food. Donations benefit the food pantry at Friendship House of Christian Service, and we've seen dozens upon dozens of families receive the food and help they need. In years past, the food drive has collected 10 tons' worth of food, a testament to the generosity of our city.
