Annual Equipment Sale to Be Held May 7

The Peoria Rivermen have announced that their annual used hockey equipment sale will take place on Saturday, May 7 from 9a.m. to 12 p.m. inside the Great Hall of the Peoria Civic Center. The sale is open to the public and there is no charge for admission.

Rivermen Add Defenseman David Shields to Roster

David Shields, the St. Louis Blues sixth round pick in 2009, has signed an amateur tryout contract with the Rivermen. He has spent the last four seasons with the Erie Otters in the Ontario Hockey League.

AHL Announces Schedule Modification for 2011-12 Season

The AHL has announced a schedule modification plan to begin with the 2011-12 season. The regular season will be reduced to 76 games and the playing calendar will be extended a week under the new plan.

Rivermen Finish Third Will Face Houston in Round 1

The Peoria Rivermen have drawn a first round playoff matchup against the Houston Aeros after finishing third in the West Division.

Rivermen Sign Goaltender Beau Erickson

The Rivermen have signed goaltender Beau Erickson to a PTO from ECHL Ontario. With the Reign this season, Erickson was 11-12-1-2 with a 3.39 GAA.

Brent Thompson Named ECHL Coach of the Year

The ECHL on Tuesday announced that Brent Thompson of the Alaska Aces is the 2010-11 recipient of the John Brophy Award as the league's Coach of the Year. He was an assistant with Peoria from 2005-09.

Graham Mink Named World Painting Company Player of the Month

The Peoria Rivermen announced today that right wing Graham Mink has been named the World Painting Company Player of the Month for March. Over the 13 games in March, Mink scored six times and had at least one point in eight of the team's games.

Hobey Baker Finalist Joins Rivermen

The Rivermen have signed forward Chase Polacek to an ATO for the remainder of the 2010-11 season. He recently completed his senior year at RPI where he was named the ECAC Player of the Year for the second straight season.
