The newest members of the Southern Professional Hockey League, the Peoria Rivermen and Bloomington Blaze, have completed the dispersal draft of the players on the roster of the Augusta Riverhawks who will not be returning to play for the 2013-14 season.


All players named to the Augusta Riverhawks protected list were eligible for the draft.


Peoria selected goaltender Robert Moss with the first overall pick. The Riverman also added veterans Jason Price and Matt Auffrey, as well as forwards Joe Schiller, Shawn Skelly, Taylor Larsen.


Moss, 25, posted 16 wins as a rookie last season with Augusta and ranked 5th in the SPHL with a 0.913 save percentage. One of the most used goalies in the league, Moss appeared in 35 games and finished with a 2.93 goals-against average (10th in the league). A native of Chesterfield, MO, Moss played four seasons at St. Lawrence University prior to turning pro.


Price, 28, has spent the majority of his seven professional season in the SPHL with Columbus, Richmond and Augusta. An offensively-minded defenseman, Price scored six goals and added 16 assists last season with a plus-9 rating. His 22 points were 10th best among SPHL defenseman.


Auffrey, 27, led Augusta in goals (14), assists (22) and 36 points while also adding 118 penalty minutes. A former sixth round draft pick of the Anaheim Mighty Ducks in 2004, also appeared in a game with the ECHL Florida Everblades.


Schiller, 24, was limited to 20 games with the Riverhawks after starting the season in the ECHL with the Las Vegas Wranglers. A forward from Detroit Lakes, Minn., Schiller played his collegiate hockey at Minnesota State University-Mankato.


Skelly, 26, played on four different teams between the SPHL and ECHL last year. He registered 17 goals and 13 assists for 30 points in 31 games with Augusta and Mississippi. He also had 16 points (7g, 9a) in 21 ECHL games with Alaska and Bakersfield.


Larsen, 24, started the season in the Federal Hockey League before joining Augusta for the final 24 games of the year. He recorded 13 points (7g, 6a) and 27 penalty minutes with the Riverhawks.
