The Peoria Rivermen will hold their third day of training camp on Wednesday with a morning practice session and an evening scrimmage. At least for the morning skate, the roster remains the same from Tuesday, but is sure to change yet again by the afternoon. There are currently 28 players on the team’s training camp roster, including 25 skaters and three goaltenders. To view Wednesday’s roster, click here.

The Rivermen are still expecting to bring in a pair of defensemen, Jarrett Rush and Nick DeMarchi, as well as center Nick Prockow by the end of camp. Those players could report to Peoria as soon as Wednesday.

Rush, 25, is projected to be a leader for Peoria this season and was released by the Wheeling Nailers of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) on Tuesday.  The 6’4, 220-pound defenseman spent most of last season in the ECHL between the Elmira Jackets, South Carolina Stingrays, Colorado Eagles and Orlando Solar Bears, where he played under former Rivermen assistant coach Drake Berehowsky.

DeMarchi, 21, was released by ECHL Toledo and recommended to Peoria by former Rivermen goaltender Nick Vitucci, the longtime Toledo head coach. DeMarchi played parts of two seasons in the Ontario Junior Hockey League before turning pro.

Prockow, 24, was released by ECHL Idaho earlier this week after spending the entire 2012-13 season with ECHL Bakersfield. In 39 games last year, he notched two goals and two assists with 14 penalty minutes. Prior to turning pro, the Montreal, Quebec native and 6’2, 210-pound center spent four seasons at Colgate University.

The Rivermen also nabbed goaltender and St. Louis native Kevin McFarland on Tuesday. McFarland, 26, was released by CHL St. Charles on Tuesday. He was used last season as an extra practice goalie by the St. Louis Blues.

Below is a full list of the remaining training camp practice times. All times and locations are subject to change.
