On January 1, 2014, the Peoria Rivermen will ring in a new year by wearing special edition New Year’s Day jerseys against the Bloomington Thunder, which will be auctioned off after the game. The first night of 2014 will also be jam packed with other great specials including a New Years themed ticket deal.

“We are very excited to be ringing in 2014 with a Rivermen home game against our archrivals,” Rivermen co-owner Bart Rogers said. “The night will be special with these unique jerseys, plus, we will be offering fantastic ticket deals for families to come out and enjoy the first night of the year.”

Aside from the custom jersey design, all fans can purchase a 4-pack of upper bowl tickets for just $20.14. That’s a savings of nearly $30. In addition, the New Year’s Day game has been declared a “guaranteed win night.” If the Rivermen don’t go home with a victory, all fans in attendance will receive a FREE voucher to the next home game on Saturday, January 11.

The New Year’s Day sweaters are one of five specialty jerseys the Rivermen will wear this season. On Nov. 2, the team wore a custom military-style camouflage jersey in support of Illinois Air National Guard – Salute to Veterans Night. In addition, Peoria will wear “Central Illinois STRONG” jerseys Dec. 20, special Valentine’s Day jerseys Feb. 14, and Peoria Chiefs baseball-style jerseys Mar. 1.

New Year’s Day will also be a season ticket holder “Bring a Friend” redemption night.

Peoria begins a home-and-home series next weekend against the Bloomington Thunder with a 7:15 p.m. puck drop on Friday at Carver Arena. The game can be heard locally on CD Country 107.9 FM or online at www.cd1079.net. Fans can also follow along via the live video and audio stream at www.americaonesports.com.
