The Peoria Rivermen are teaming up with the Peoria Chiefs Baseball Club to host “Peoria Chiefs Night” this Saturday (March 1) at 7:15 p.m. The night will feature a variety of specials including ticket giveaways and unique jerseys when the Louisiana IceGators visit Carver Arena.
During the game, the Rivermen will wear special edition baseball style jerseys, which will be auctioned off afterwards. Plus, all fans in attendance will receive a free voucher to the Chiefs’ 2014 home opener at Dozer Park on April 8. Homer, the Chiefs’ beloved mascot, will also be in attendance to meet fans and take pictures.
The Peoria Chiefs are a Class A minor league baseball team affiliated with the St. Louis Cardinals. They began play in Peoria in 1983 and are currently one of 16 teams in the Midwest League. Former players include Greg Maddux, Joe Girardi and Albert Pujols.
In addition to “Peoria Chiefs Night,” this Saturday is also Illinois Air National Guard “Team Poster Night” as well as “MC Sports Youth Night.” Make sure to arrive early as the first 2,500 fans will receive a 2013-14 Rivermen team poster courtesy of the Illinois Air National Guard.
