Rivermen, Civic Center, Agree to Lease Extension

SPHL franchise signs pact to remain at PCC through 2019-20 season

Peoria, IL – The Peoria Rivermen and the Peoria Civic Center have announced Thursday that the facility and the team have reached an agreement on a lease extension that will allow the Rivermen to continue playing their home games at Carver Arena through the 2019-20 season. The agreement comes days before the Southern Professional Hockey League is expected to release the schedule for the 2017-18 season.

“We are excited to be able to reach a lease extension that will keep the Peoria Rivermen playing on Carver Arena ice for the next three hockey seasons,” said Rivermen co-owner Bart Rogers. “We are proud of our long-standing association with the City of Peoria, Peoria Civic Center Authority Board and Arena Management company, SMG. Our relationship with the entire building staff to make sure our games are an enjoyable experience for our fans and sponsors is second to none. Success in this business is a partnership and we know we have that with the entire facility.”

The Rivermen are set to begin the 36th consecutive season of professional hockey in Peoria this October, currently good for the eighth-longest such string in minor pro hockey. A full season schedule is set to be released by the SPHL in coming weeks. Information about season, group, and individual game tickets are available by calling the Rivermen office at (309)-676-1040.
