Rivermen Announce Loaded 2018-19 Promotional Calendar

2 postgame concerts, 10 specialty jersey nights highlight 37th Rivermen season

 

Peoria, IL – The Peoria Rivermen are excited to announce the team’s promotional schedule for the 2018-19 season, Peoria’s 37th consecutive season of professional hockey. The promotional calendar is set to include two postgame concerts, as well as 10 specialty jersey nights scattered throughout the season.

 

The Rivermen will open their home schedule with a preseason contest Oct. 13 at Carver Arena, the team’s first preseason game since 2013, with all tickets to the contest available for $10. Peoria’s annual Bruce Saurs Opening Night will take place at Nov. 2’s regular season home opener, with Rivermen magnet schedules given away to the first 2,000 fans courtesy of Envision Insurance Group.

 

The Rivermen promotional calendar for the 2018-19 campaign is highlighted by a pair of postgame concert nights, set to take place January 18 & 19 following games against the Quad City Storm. The 18th will be Peoria’s Country Music Night with a performance by the Joe Stamm Band, and the following evening will be the Rivermen’s annual Faith & Family Night game, featuring a postgame concert by acclaimed contemporary Christian band I Am They.

 

Peoria will host the first of their 10 specialty jersey nights November 10 with their Veteran’s Day Celebration Night presented by the Illinois Air National Guard. A full list of Peoria’s 2018-19 specialty jersey nights are as follows:

 

  • Nov. 10 vs. Fayetteville: USA Flag/Camo jerseys, Veteran’s Day Celebration presented by Illinois Air National Guard
  • Nov. 24 vs. Pensacola: Wiener Dog Race jerseys, 2nd Annual Rivermen Weiner Dog Races presented by Camp Bow Wow
  • Dec. 8 vs. Evansville: Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville jerseys, Summer in December night presented by Reggae Wines
  • Dec. 14 vs. Quad City: Ugly Holiday Sweater jerseys, Ugly Holiday Sweater night presented by Tri-County Cleaning Systems
  • Jan. 5 vs. Evansville: Team USA Miracle on Ice jerseys, Miracle on Ice night presented by Gift of Hope
  • Jan. 19 vs. Quad City: Rivermen Hall of Fame jerseys, Rivermen Hall of Fame Night inducting Butch Kaebel and Norm Ulrich into the Rivermen Hall of Fame
  • Feb. 16 vs. Macon: Paw Patrol jerseys, Nick Jr. Paw Patrol night presented by Country Financial, with special appearance by “Skye”
  • Feb. 23 vs. Roanoke: Hockey Fights Cancer jerseys, Rivermen Hockey Fights Cancer night presented by DAX Foundation
  • March 2 vs. Knoxville: Chicago Blackhawks themed jerseys, Chicago Blackhawks night presented by The Fieldhouse
  • March 30 vs. Evansville: Star Wars jerseys, Star Wars Night with the Rivermen

 

The Rivermen will host the first of their Chicago Blackhawks nights on November 10, a game which will include appearances by the Blackhawks Ice Girls and will also serve as the Rivermen’s annual CityLink Stuff-A-Bus Night, with fans who donate a canned food item receiving a free T-shirt.

 

In addition to Nov. 2’s magnetic schedule giveaway, the first 3,000 fans to Carver Arena Jan. 4 will get a 2019 Rivermen flip calendar, while 1,000 fans will receive a Butch Kaebel bobblehead courtesy of Pekin Insurance on Jan. 19.

 

Other nights of interest featured in this season’s Rivermen home slate include Dec. 8’s annual Rivermen Teddy Bear Toss, with all stuffed animals thrown on the ice after the first Rivermen goal given to charity. Peoria will also host a “Guaranteed Win Night” March 1, with all fans in attendance getting a free ticket to Sunday, March 3’s contest if the Rivermen fail to defeat the Knoxville Ice Bears. March 29’s game with Evansville will be Peoria’s first “Turn Back the Clock Night” with $5 upper bowl tickets and concession and merchandise prices discounted throughout the game.

 

All four of Peoria’s 2018-19 Sunday home games at Carver Arena, co-sponsored by the Peoria Park District, will again include $3 tickets for kids 12 & under, $2 Raber Meats hot dogs, and include a postgame skate with the team. All four Sunday games this season will begin at 3:05 PM and feature a one-hour pregame Kids Fest in the Peoria Civic Center’s Great Hall, with inflatables provided by Fun on the Run, face painting by Wild Style Design, and balloon art by Unique Twist.

 

Single game tickets for the 2018-19 season of Rivermen hockey are scheduled to go on sale in early October, and can be purchased through the Rivermen office at (309)-676-1040, or through the Toyota Box Office at the Peoria Civic Center.
