Oskroba Returns to Bolster Rivermen Blueline

The Peoria Rivermen announced Monday that the team has signed defenseman Ben Oskroba to a professional tryout agreement for this October’s training camp. Oskroba, 28, returns to Peoria for his sixth season in a Rivermen uniform, making him the only player to play for Peoria in each season of their SPHL era.

Gurtler Returns to Rivermen Lineup

The Peoria Rivermen announced Tuesday that the team has signed veteran winger Mike Gurtler to a professional tryout agreement for this October’s training camp. Gurtler, who was among Peoria’s 13 protected players this offseason, returns to the Rivermen for his third full season in Peoria and his seventh overall season as a professional.

Rivermen Add Quartet to Training Camp Roster
The Peoria Rivermen announced today that the team has signed veteran center Dean Yakura, rookie forward Chris Magi, and first-year goaltender Braeden Ostepchuk and second-year netminder Aaron Taylor to professional tryout agreements for the team’s October training camp. Yakura will return to Peoria for the first time since skating in one game for the Rivermen during the 2014-15 season, while Ostepchuk, Taylor, and Magi made their professional debuts last season for ECHL Greenville, FHL Danville, and FHL North Shore, respectively.

The Peoria Rivermen announced Sunday that the team has signed defenseman Ralfs Grinbergs to a professional tryout agreement for the team’s October training camp. Grinbergs, a 6-foot-4 native of Riga, Latvia, tallied three goals and 14 assists in 51 regular-season games for the Mississippi RiverKings in 2017-18, his first season stateside.

The Peoria Rivermen announced today that the team has signed winger Mark Petaccio to a professional tryout agreement for this October’s training camp. Petaccio joins the Rivermen after he tallied 18 goals and 19 assists over 52 games last season as a member of the Evansville Thunderbolts.

Rivermen Announce 2018 Protected List
The Peoria Rivermen and head coach Jean-Guy Trudel announced the team’s 2018 offseason protected list Wednesday, designating the 13 players from their 2017-18 roster who will be off-limits to Quad City in the Southern Professional Hockey League’s upcoming expansion draft. Additionally, the Rivermen will retain exclusive SPHL negotiation rights with their 13 protected players prior to this October’s training camp and through the duration of the 2018-19 season.

Rivermen Complete Four-Player Trade with Fayetteville Wednesday

The Peoria Rivermen announced Wednesday afternoon that the team has completed a four-player trade with the Fayetteville Marksmen, acquiring goaltender Peter Di Salvo and winger Joe Kalisz in exchange for winger Dakota Klecha and the SPHL rights to winger Nick Miglio, currently on loan to ECHL Kansas City. In a pair of separate moves, the Rivermen have released goaltender Ryan de Melo, and center Joseph Widmar has returned from his loan to ECHL Greenville.

Rivermen Cut Roster to 22 at Midpoint of Training Camp

The Peoria Rivermen announced a wave of roster cuts Sunday afternoon before the SPHL’s Sunday-night 22-man roster cut-down deadline. In order to reduce the roster to 22 players, including goalies, Peoria released goaltender Dylan Wells and forwards Nathan Pelligra and Brandon Platt.
