Training Camp Opens on Monday at Owens Center

The Peoria Rivermen have announced that the club
will open its 2011 training camp on Monday, Sept. 26 at the Owens Center in
Peoria. Rivermen General Manager Kevin
McDonald has also announced that the team has invited four non-contracted
players to their American Hockey League training camp.
Players will take the ice on Monday beginning at 1 p.m. All practices listed are free and open to the public and media. The schedule for camp is as follows:
Monday, Sept. 26 Practice 1:00 – 2:30 PM Owens Center
Tuesday, Sept. 27 Practice 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM Owens Center
Wednesday, Sept. 28 Practice 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM Owens Center
Thursday, Sept. 29 Practice 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM Owens Center
Friday, Sept. 30 Morning Skate 10:00 – 11: 00 AM Carver Arena
Preseason Game vs. Chicago 7:00 PM Carver Arena
Saturday, Oct. 1 Morning Skate 10:00 – 11:00 AM Carver Arena
Preseason Game at Rockford 7:00 PM BMO Harris Bank Center

The camp invitees are forwards Chris Langkow, Ethan Cox and Chris Bruton along with goaltender Andrew Hayes. Langkow appeared in eight games for the Rivermen last season and recorded three points (1g, 2a). Cox also saw action in one game with Peoria while spending the majority of the season with the Alaska Aces (ECHL). Both Bruton and Hayes will be making their professional debuts this season.
Tickets for the preseason game against Chicago on Friday, Sept. 30 are available now for just $10. Preseason tickets for season ticket holders are free again this season.
