Training Camp Opens Saturday in Peoria

The Peoria Rivermen have announced that the team
will open training camp in preparation for the 31st season of
professional hockey in Peoria on Saturday, Sept. 29. The first on-ice practice will take place that
day at Carver Arena at 3 p.m.
All on-ice sessions of the 2012 training camp will be held at the Peoria Civic Center and are open to the public. Players will be available to the media following their respective ice-session.
Training camp is highlighted by three preseason games, including two at Carver Arena. The exhibition schedule opens on Monday, Oct. 1 against the Chicago Wolves at 7:05 p.m. The Rivermen will travel to the Community Center and Ice Arena in Hoffman Estates, Ill. to face the Wolves on Friday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. The preseason slate wraps up on Saturday, Oct. 6 with the Rivermen hosting the Rockford IceHogs at 7 p.m.
Tickets to the home preseason games are available for $10 each in both the upper and lower bowls.
