Grinbergs Joins Rivermen Blueline Corps

The Peoria Rivermen announced Sunday that the team has signed defenseman Ralfs Grinbergs to a professional tryout agreement for the team’s October training camp. Grinbergs, a 6-foot-4 native of Riga, Latvia, tallied three goals and 14 assists in 51 regular-season games for the Mississippi RiverKings in 2017-18, his first season stateside.

Rivermen, Storm, Announce Season Ticket Exchange Deal
The Peoria Rivermen and Quad City Storm are excited to announce a deal between the teams that will allow full-season ticket holders to attend away games for a discounted price when the teams face each other during the 2018-19 season. The deal will allow for Rivermen and Storm season ticket holders to purchase $15 premium tickets for Rivermen games at the TaxSlayer Center and Storm games at Carver Arena, respectively.

Rivermen Release Full 2018-19 Schedule
The Peoria Rivermen, in coordination with the Southern Professional Hockey League, announced the team’s full 2018-19 schedule Friday morning. The Quad City Storm will be Peoria’s most common opponent, with 16 meetings between the teams split evenly between Carver Arena and the TaxSlayer Center, with the latter hosting Peoria’s regular season opener October 20.

Former Thunderbolts Winger Petaccio Joins Rivermen

The Peoria Rivermen announced today that the team has signed winger Mark Petaccio to a professional tryout agreement for this October’s training camp. Petaccio joins the Rivermen after he tallied 18 goals and 19 assists over 52 games last season as a member of the Evansville Thunderbolts.

Rivermen Announce 2018-19 Hall of Fame Inductees

The Peoria Rivermen announced today that the team plans to induct former IHL and ECHL Rivermen winger Karl “Butch” Kaebel into the its Hall of Fame during the 2018-19 season. Additionally, longtime Rivermen broadcast voice Norm Ulrich, who passed away last October, will be posthumously inducted into the Hall’s Builders Wing.

Rivermen Release Home Schedule
The Peoria Rivermen, in conjunction with the Southern Professional Hockey League, have announced the dates of the team’s 2018-19 home games today. The Rivermen will open their home slate November 2 at Carver Arena, and include 11 Fridays, 11 Saturdays, five Sundays, and one 10 AM Thursday contest in mid-December. With the exception of December 13, all Peoria’s home games will begin as they did during the 2017-18 season, at 7:15 PM on Fridays and Saturdays and 3:05 PM on Sundays.

Rivermen Announce 2018 Protected List
The Peoria Rivermen and head coach Jean-Guy Trudel announced the team’s 2018 offseason protected list Wednesday, designating the 13 players from their 2017-18 roster who will be off-limits to Quad City in the Southern Professional Hockey League’s upcoming expansion draft. Additionally, the Rivermen will retain exclusive SPHL negotiation rights with their 13 protected players prior to this October’s training camp and through the duration of the 2018-19 season.

Rivermen Set Playoff Roster Monday

The Peoria Rivermen have announced the team’s playoff roster Monday on the afternoon of the league’s deadline for postseason rosters to be finalized. Wingers Christian Horn and Ryan Siiro have returned to the Rivermen from their ECHL loans before today’s deadline, while the Rivermen released defenseman Lee Christiansen and winger Michael Economos to bring their playoff roster to the SPHL’s 19-man limit.

Rivermen Issue Challenge, Set to Face Roanoke

The Peoria Rivermen announced today as part of the SPHL’s inaugural Challenge Round Selection broadcast that the team has challenged eight-seeded Roanoke to begin the post-season schedule. The Best-Of-3 series will take place at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, nearby the host Rail Yard Dawgs’ Berglund Center, while Game 2, and Game 3 if necessary, will take place at Peoria’s Owens Center due to a scheduling conflict with the Peoria Civic Center.
