Rivermen Set to Battle Ice Bears in Semis

Rivermen Set Playoff Roster Monday

The Peoria Rivermen have announced the team’s playoff roster Monday on the afternoon of the league’s deadline for postseason rosters to be finalized. Wingers Christian Horn and Ryan Siiro have returned to the Rivermen from their ECHL loans before today’s deadline, while the Rivermen released defenseman Lee Christiansen and winger Michael Economos to bring their playoff roster to the SPHL’s 19-man limit.

Rivermen Issue Challenge, Set to Face Roanoke

The Peoria Rivermen announced today as part of the SPHL’s inaugural Challenge Round Selection broadcast that the team has challenged eight-seeded Roanoke to begin the post-season schedule. The Best-Of-3 series will take place at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, nearby the host Rail Yard Dawgs’ Berglund Center, while Game 2, and Game 3 if necessary, will take place at Peoria’s Owens Center due to a scheduling conflict with the Peoria Civic Center.

Peoria Signs Pair of Forwards to ATOs

The Peoria Rivermen have announced today that the team has signed collegiate forwards Nathan Chasteen and Brandon Reinholz to amateur tryout contracts before the team concludes their 2017-18 regular season this weekend at Carver Arena. Chasteen and Reinholz both concluded four-year collegiate careers this season at Robert Morris University and Hamline University, respectively, and will join the Rivermen for the final two games of the regular season this Friday and Saturday.

The Peoria Rivermen are excited to announce today that the team’s first game of the 2018 President’s Cup Challenge Round will most likely take place Wednesday, April 11, at 7:15 PM at Carver Arena, with Peoria’s opponent still to be determined. Of Peoria's five remaining possible choices for a Challenge Round opponent, four would have the top-seeded Rivermen opening the Challenge Round at home.

Rivermen Bolster Blueline Before Playoff Run

The Peoria Rivermen have announced today that the team has re-added defenseman Geoff Fortman to the roster, waived winger Tommy Tsicos, and moved center/winger Will Smith from the 21-day Injured Reserve to Season-Ending IR with a lower body injury he suffered in a March 16 game at Pensacola. Fortman returns to the Rivermen roster after skating in 57 ECHL games for Cincinnati and Rapid City.

Rivermen Loan Parks to ECHL Florida, Sign Goaltender Pulde

The Peoria Rivermen have announced that goaltender Tyler Parks has been loaned to the Florida Everblades of the ECHL, and that the team has signed goaltender Mason Pulde to a contract before Peoria’s three-game weekend road trip to Birmingham and Macon. Parks’ trip to Florida will mark his second ECHL stint of the season, while Pulde joins the Rivermen after going 3-0-0 in four outings with the FHL’s Watertown Wolves.
