Rivermen Add Fireworks Show, Zach McAllister to Promo Calendar

Chillicothe native and Indians righty, New Years Eve Celebration Highlight December additions

 

PEORIA, IL – The Peoria Rivermen are excited to announce a pair of additions to their December promotional calendar. Peoria’s December 9 faceoff with Knoxville will be highlighted by an appearance from Cleveland Indians right-handed pitcher Zach McAllister appearing at the team’s December 9 game, while the team’s December 31 game with Mississippi will feature a post-game indoor fireworks show sponsored by Illinois Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 34.

 

McAllister’s appearance is the second installment in the Hometown Heroes series presented by CEFCU and the Peoria Civic Center. The graduate of Illinois Valley Central High School in Chillicothe, IL was a third-round draft pick of the New York Yankees in 2006, and spent last season with the Cleveland Indians, helping them to the team’s first AL Pennant since 1997. The 28-year-old will be dropping a first puck of the game and signing autographs on the concourse throughout the evening.

 

Additionally, the Rivermen are excited to announce a post-game fireworks show, presented by the Illinois Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 34, inside Carver Arena following the team’s December 31 game against the Mississippi RiverKings. The evening will also feature a special package of two lower bowl end zone tickets for $20.17 to celebrate the New Year.

 

The Rivermen return to action in Knoxville, Tennessee this Friday night when they take on the Ice Bears to open a three-day road swing with a 6:30 puck drop. After their three-game road weekend, Peoria will return home for a pair of contests with the expansion Evansville Thunderbolts November 25 & 26,with Black Friday ticket specials available for Friday’s game and Saturday’s tilt including Peoria’s annual Teddy Bear Toss and Salvation Army Coats for Kids drive, as well as the first installment of the Hometown Heroes series with Eureka native and Chicago Cubs World Series MVP Ben Zobrist on hand.
