Rivermen Announce Denis Savard Appearance for March 4

Blackhawks legend set to appear along with Blackhawks mascot and Ice Girls

Peoria, IL – The Peoria Rivermen made another addition to their promotional calendar Tuesday, giving an additional spin to their scheduled Chicago Blackhawks night for March 4. The Rivermen will be hosting Blackhawks legend and NHL Hall of Famer Denis Savard at the game, in addition to the Blackhawks’ Bud Light Ice Girls and mascot Tommy Hawk. The Rivermen will also wear specialty Blackhawks jerseys, and auction the game-worn sweaters off after the game against the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs.

Savard will be on the Carver Arena concourse to sign autographs, one item per person, free of charge from 6-8 PM. Additionally, the Rivermen will be selling a limited number of tickets starting Thursday through their online store for a VIP event with Savard, Tommy Hawk, and the Bud Light Ice Girls before the game.

The VIP event will cost $69 per person, take place in the Carver Arena Club Room (downstairs) from 5-7 PM, and will include a guaranteed autograph and meet & greet with Savard, the ice girls, and Tommy Hawk, as well as a premium lower-bowl ticket to the game. The meet & greet will include a Savor “Fan Favorite Buffet” dinner, with Raber hot dogs, a nacho bar, Italian submarine sandwiches, marinated vegetables, and pasta salad, as well as Kitchen Cooked potato chips, pretzels, assorted cookies, and one bottled water or soda.

The night will also include specialty Blackhawks jerseys to be worn by the Rivermen, which will be auctioned off postgame. Tickets to the game can be purchased through the Rivermen office or the Toyota Box Office at the Peoria Civic Center, and tickets to the VIP event will go on sale Thursday, January 12, online at rivermenteamstore.com.

The game will be the second of a three-game series, Peoria’s first ever set with the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs. The Dawgs will be making their only regular-season trip to Carver Arena March 3-5, and Peoria will travel to Roanoke for a pair of games two weeks later, March 17 & 18.

Group, single game, and season tickets for Peoria's 35th season of professional hockey presented by Midwest Orthopaedic Center are on sale at the Toyota Box Office in the Peoria Civic Center, or by phone at the Rivermen office, located at 201 S.W. Jefferson Street, or over the phone at (309) 676-1040. For the latest Rivermen news and notes, follow online at www.rivermen.net or through Facebook (www.facebook.com/PeoriaRivermen) - Twitter(https://twitter.com/Peoria_Rivermen)
