Player Appearances Guidelines
Rivermen players are available for a limited number of appearances, depending on the time of year requests are made. The majority of player appearances are community service, school or hospital visits. Players are not available on game days. Appearances are limited to one hour. Players generally wear casual clothing to appearances unless specific dress is requested.
We are trying to create additional programs in community relations that utilize the player appearances as an incentive/enhancement of the program. Therefore, we adhere to the following criteria:
Direct interaction with kids
Clear role for the player in the event (read books, hand out awards)
No athletic functions with risk of injury (i.e. basketball games)
Maximize player time (as large number of kids influenced as possible by visit)
There is no fee in regard to a Rivermen player appearance. Any refreshment (dinner, beverage) provided is greatly appreciated.

During the regular season (October through March) Rivermen players, coaches and staff are available in the afternoons (no earlier than 2 p.m.) for appearances.
Rivermen player appearances are strictly limited during the playoff season (April and May).
During the immediate offseason (June through September), players are generally not available due to their vacation schedules or non-residence in the Central Illinois Area.
Use of the Rivermen’s name, logos and trademarks and/or advertising that implies the support of an event by the Rivermen must be approved in writing by the Peoria Rivermen Hockey Club. Before promoting a Rivermen player appearance, please check with the Community Relations Department for acceptable practices. Use of Rivermen logos are generally not allowed. This policy pertains to all forms of advertising, including all print, television and radio promotion.
REQUESTS FOR COACHES AND STAFF
All appearance speaking requests for Rivermen coaches and staff must be made in writing.
Schedules vary greatly but are very similar to those of players. When players are unavailable, so too are many others in the organization who play supporting roles on and off the ice.
