Rumble Called Up to ECHL Norfolk

Defenseman notched four points in 10 games for Peoria this season

Peoria, IL – The Peoria Rivermen have announced today that the team has loaned defenseman Brandon Rumble to ECHL Norfolk before the team’s game against the Fayetteville Marksmen in Fayetteville, NC. Rumble, now in his second pro season, earns his first ECHL stint after he spent time in training camp last October with ECHL Indy and this fall with ECHL Brampton.

Rumble tallied four points, including his first pro goal, in his first 10 games for the Rivermen this season. The Ottawa, Ontario native recorded 16 assists in 53 regular-season contests for Peoria last season, adding five helpers in seven playoff games as he helped the Rivermen to the President’s Cup Finals.

Rumble becomes the seventh Rivermen skated loaned to an ECHL team this season, joining defensemen Chris Rygus (Fort Wayne), Jake Flegel (Atlanta), and Cody Smith (Newfoundland), winger Joe Kalisz (Maine), and centers Justin Greenberg (Atlanta, returned 11/20) and Joseph Widmar (Fort Wayne, returned 11/28).

The Rivermen are scheduled to return to action this tonight at 6 PM EST/5 pm CST in Fayetteville, NC against the Marksmen before returning to Carver Arena for home games December 8 & 9. December 8 will be Peoria’s Jimmy Buffett Night presented by Easley Winery and Reggae Wines, with special jerseys worn by the Rivermen and auctioned off postgame. Peoria will also hold their annual Teddy Bear Toss December 8, with all stuffed animals thrown on the ice after the first Rivermen goal donated to local charities. Tickets to all of Peoria’s remaining 2018-19 home games are available by calling the team at (309)-676-1040.

Single-game, group and season tickets for Peoria's 37th season of professional hockey presented by Midwest Orthopaedic Center are on sale at the Toyota Box Office in the Peoria Civic Center, or by phone at the Rivermen office, located at 201 S.W.
