Rivermen Sign Three Forwards

Peoria, IL – The Peoria Rivermen are proud to announce that they have signed three skaters, including two veterans, for the upcoming 2021-22 season.

 

Defenseman Nick Neville returns to the River City for his fifth season in Peoria. Neville was an assistant captain for the Rivermen during the 2019-20 season with six goals and 29 assists for 35 points to his credit. The Bloomfield Hills, Michigan native suited up in 39 games for the President’s Cup Champion Pensacola Ice Flyers, netting 17 points during their season. Neville boasts over 110 games in Peoria and has 76 points (11 goals, 65 assists) in a Rivermen uniform.

 

Forward Alec Baer is also back with the Rivermen this season after skating for the Birmingham Bulls during the 2020-21 campaign. Baer came to the Peoria Rivermen during the 2019-20 season where he accumulated 25 points (seven goals, 18 assists) in 34 games for Peoria. Baer was loaned to the Newfoundland Growlers of the ECHL that season for seven games that year as well.

 

Peoria is also adding a new face in Mike Laidley, a 5’11’’ forward from Little Current, Ontario. Laidley played his rookie season in the SPHL with the Pensacola Ice Flyers. Before that he was a five-year forward in the college ranks with St. Lawrence University, earning the title of both Assistant Captain and Captain in his five years with the Saints.
