Oskroba Returns to Bolster Rivermen Blueline

The Peoria Rivermen announced Monday that the team has signed defenseman Ben Oskroba to a professional tryout agreement for this October’s training camp. Oskroba, 28, returns to Peoria for his sixth season in a Rivermen uniform, making him the only player to play for Peoria in each season of their SPHL era.

The Peoria Rivermen announced Tuesday that the team has signed veteran winger Mike Gurtler to a professional tryout agreement for this October’s training camp. Gurtler, who was among Peoria’s 13 protected players this offseason, returns to the Rivermen for his third full season in Peoria and his seventh overall season as a professional.

The Peoria Rivermen are excited to announce that the team will be holding a monthly Coaches show this season, hosted by The Fieldhouse Bar & Grill in Peoria. Beginning Oct. 23 and running one Tuesday evening each month until March, the show will be held live at the Fieldhouse from 6:30-7:30 PM and be broadcast on mixlr.com/Peoria-Rivermen.

Rivermen Add Quartet to Training Camp Roster
The Peoria Rivermen announced today that the team has signed veteran center Dean Yakura, rookie forward Chris Magi, and first-year goaltender Braeden Ostepchuk and second-year netminder Aaron Taylor to professional tryout agreements for the team’s October training camp. Yakura will return to Peoria for the first time since skating in one game for the Rivermen during the 2014-15 season, while Ostepchuk, Taylor, and Magi made their professional debuts last season for ECHL Greenville, FHL Danville, and FHL North Shore, respectively.

Grinbergs Joins Rivermen Blueline Corps

The Peoria Rivermen announced Sunday that the team has signed defenseman Ralfs Grinbergs to a professional tryout agreement for the team’s October training camp. Grinbergs, a 6-foot-4 native of Riga, Latvia, tallied three goals and 14 assists in 51 regular-season games for the Mississippi RiverKings in 2017-18, his first season stateside.

Rivermen, Storm, Announce Season Ticket Exchange Deal
The Peoria Rivermen and Quad City Storm are excited to announce a deal between the teams that will allow full-season ticket holders to attend away games for a discounted price when the teams face each other during the 2018-19 season. The deal will allow for Rivermen and Storm season ticket holders to purchase $15 premium tickets for Rivermen games at the TaxSlayer Center and Storm games at Carver Arena, respectively.

Rivermen Release Full 2018-19 Schedule
The Peoria Rivermen, in coordination with the Southern Professional Hockey League, announced the team’s full 2018-19 schedule Friday morning. The Quad City Storm will be Peoria’s most common opponent, with 16 meetings between the teams split evenly between Carver Arena and the TaxSlayer Center, with the latter hosting Peoria’s regular season opener October 20.

Rivermen Release Home Schedule
The Peoria Rivermen, in conjunction with the Southern Professional Hockey League, have announced the dates of the team’s 2018-19 home games today. The Rivermen will open their home slate November 2 at Carver Arena, and include 11 Fridays, 11 Saturdays, five Sundays, and one 10 AM Thursday contest in mid-December. With the exception of December 13, all Peoria’s home games will begin as they did during the 2017-18 season, at 7:15 PM on Fridays and Saturdays and 3:05 PM on Sundays.

Rivermen Complete Four-Player Trade with Fayetteville Wednesday

The Peoria Rivermen announced Wednesday afternoon that the team has completed a four-player trade with the Fayetteville Marksmen, acquiring goaltender Peter Di Salvo and winger Joe Kalisz in exchange for winger Dakota Klecha and the SPHL rights to winger Nick Miglio, currently on loan to ECHL Kansas City. In a pair of separate moves, the Rivermen have released goaltender Ryan de Melo, and center Joseph Widmar has returned from his loan to ECHL Greenville.
